Named National League Most Valuable Player…won first career Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Award…Became the 1st player in MLB history to have 200 hits, 15 3B, 25 HR, and 25 SB in the same season... Became the 2nd player in Phillies history to have 30 HR and 30 SB in the same season (Bobby Abreu, 2001 & 2004) and the 3rd shortstop in MLB history to do it, joining Barry Larkin (1996) and Alex Rodriguez (1998)... Set career highs in games (162), hits (212), HR (30), RBI (94), triples (20), total bases (380), extra-base hits (88) and at-bats (716)... His 716 at-bats set a new MLB record, eclipsing Willie Wilson's 705 from 1980... Became just the 4th player in MLB history to have 20 2B, 20 3B, 20 HR and 20 SB in a season, joining Hall of Famer Willie Mays (1957), Frank Schulte (1911) and Curtis Granderson, who also did it this year; is the only one of those 4 to have 200 hits in the same season... Set the NL records for runs (139) and extra-base hits (88) by a shortstop; only Alex Rodriguez had more XBH (91 in 1996)... Entered the season with a 36-game hit streak,which ended at 38 games, 4/6 vs STL (0-4); 4th-longest streak in NL history and longest ever by a Phillie...Became just the 2nd player in MLB history to have at least 40 2B, 25 HR, 120 R and 35 SB in the same season (Alfonso Soriano, 2002)...Set Phillies single-season records for HR and runs scored (127) by a SS...
